Where everything is
The whole interface in one page — every sidebar row at both levels, what each one is for, what moved to Bookbag account, the top bar, and what the badges and red dots mean.
Madebook has two navigation modes: the organization and a workspace. The sidebar switches between them. The switcher at the foot of the sidebar shows which organization you are in and lets you move to another. The workspace switcher at the head shows which workspace you are in.
Both sidebars open with a group titled MadeBook: the product's own pages first, under its name. CodeBook's sidebar opens the same way.
The organization
| Row | Page | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| MadeBook | ||
| Home | /organizations/<id> |
The organization's name, its workspace and member counts, and its workspaces as cards. See Home and Overview. |

Everything that needs a person or is not set up yet: attention, the setup callout, the governance journey card, people and the admin links. See Home and Overview. |

| Attention | Every workspace's queue, grouped by workspace. | |
| Review queue | What needs a reviewer, with the evidence to decide. See The review queue. | |

| MCP tokens | /tokens |
The API tokens editors present. See API tokens. |
| Settings | The organization, telemetry, knowledge, delete. | |
| Governance | ||
| Governance journey | The ordered path from set up to governed, with evidence. See The governance journey. | |
| Policies and approvals | Providers, models, clients, compliance frameworks, policies, settings. See Governance overview. | |
| Coverage | Which work is judged, and where protection failed. See Coverage. | |
| Outcomes | Whether governing the work changed anything. See Outcomes. | |
| Violations | Rules of yours that were broken. | |
| Approval rules | How many independent approvals, owners, CODEOWNERS. See The compliance check. | |
| Exceptions | Waivers with a scope, a reason, an expiry and a second approver. | |

| Audit | The append-only record, its integrity, streaming and signed exports. See The audit trail as evidence. | |
| More | ||
| Billing | Plan and subscription. |
There is no Organization group any more. Its rows (People, Chat, Storage and AI self hosted) belonged to the organization rather than to Madebook, and they are managed at your Bookbag account. See What is managed at Bookbag account below.

Sessions standing on the same ground. |
The More group is collapsed by default and opens itself when you are on a page inside it. Seventeen equal entries made the five that matter impossible to find.
Two orderings are deliberate:
- Changes sits above Work sessions, because reviewing code is the job people come back to; sessions are where you go to diagnose one.
- Attention sits at the top of a workspace, above Overview, because the queue is the product. The Review queue sits directly under it: the same idea, narrowed to what a reviewer can act on. At the organization level, Home and Overview come first and Attention follows them.
What is managed at Bookbag account
An organization's people, chat, files, storage and AI settings belong to the organization, not to one product. They are managed once, on the organization's page at your Bookbag account (sso.bookbag.ai/user/organizations/<id>), and apply to every Bookbag product at the same time. Madebook has no copy of those pages.
| What | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| People, roles and invitations | Manage organization ↗ on the organization's Home, the Members tile, or Manage ↗ on the People panel of Overview |
| Chat | The chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of every Madebook page, or the Chat page at Bookbag account. See Organization chat |
| Files and storage | The storage bar under the organization's name in the sidebar shows how full the allowance is. The files and the storage provider are managed at Bookbag account. See Storage and files |
| Who runs the models, provider keys, models | AI self hosted at Bookbag account. See AI configuration and The token allowance |
Old Madebook addresses for these pages (/organizations/<id>/people, /chat, /storage and /ai) still work. They redirect to the organization's page at Bookbag account.
The badges
A number in a coloured circle on a sidebar row.
| Row | Colour | Counts |
|---|---|---|
| Attention | red | Unviewed items at intervene, decide or review |
| Violations | red | Unviewed open violations |
| Changes | amber | Changes waiting |
| Work sessions | blue | Live sessions, suffixed "live" |
They count unviewed, not open. A count that never goes down is a count nobody reads. Each hides itself at zero — a badge that is always lit is a badge nobody reads either. Above 99 they show 99+, and they refresh every 20 seconds.
Listing an item is showing it. Opening the Attention page marks everything it returns as seen.
The red dots
A small red dot on a sidebar row means that section has data that has not been put in. Hovering it lists the reasons.
Every reason is a fact about the rows — "no AI provider is approved", "the constitution is a draft" — never a guess about what somebody meant to do. A section with no reasons has no dot, and the same list feeds the setup hints on the pages themselves, so the dot and the page never disagree.
The full lists are in Organizations and Workspaces.
The top bar
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Madebook by Bookbag | The product name, top left. It links to your Madebook home. |
| Search | The ⌘K (Ctrl+K) palette: pages, workspaces, organizations and a New workspace action. See Search and pickers. |
| Notifications | Your shared Bookbag inbox, plus Madebook's own attention items for the scope you are in. |
| Theme | Light or dark. Stored on your Bookbag account, so it follows you into every product. |
| App switcher | The grid button. It moves you between the Bookbag products on the organization you are in, with one sign-in. The launcher is served by Bookbag account, so a new product appears in it without a Madebook release. |
| Account | Your Bookbag account, Platform admin if you are one, the AI token meter for the organization you are in, and Sign out. |
The organization switcher
The foot of the sidebar shows the organization you are in, with a small storage bar under its name. The bar shows how much of the owner's storage allowance is used. Hover over it to see the figures. It is indigo normally, amber above 80% and red when the allowance is full. It is hidden when Bookbag account does not answer or when you are not a member. See Storage and files.
Open the switcher to move to another organization, to see All organizations, or to create a New organization.
Pages that only forward
Some addresses exist only so that old links and bookmarks keep working. The sign-in and account addresses forward to Bookbag account; the organization's old People, Chat, Storage and AI pages forward to the organization's page there. The full list is in Signing in.
